New Report Navigation Workflows

Updated over a week ago

Context Menu Updates

Reports have new Context Menu options. The new options include:

  • Edit Report

  • Rename Report

  • Save Changes

  • Duplicate Report

Only Dashboard Owners, Managers, or Editors can use these options. Viewers can not save changes to Reports or modify a Dashboard.

Rename Report

When updating a Report's name or description is now done in the Context Menu. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the Report, select Rename Report and use the popup window to make changes to the name and description.

Edit Report

Edit Report opens the report builder and allows you to make any necessary changes to the report definition. You're able to modify the report logic and re-execute, make any edits to the results, and then click Replace in the top right corner

Clicking Replace will implement these changes directly on your Dashboard.

If you Edit a Report, then make changes to the visualization options, don't save them, and finally try to exit the Reports activity, you will get a notification that asks you to save your changes or continue without saving.

Save Changes

The Save Changes option in the Context Menu allows users to save visualization changes to the Dashboard.

Save in Report Builder

You'll also see a new Save button in the Report Builder that does the same action. If you click into a Report that you own, make a change to the visualization, and then click Save the change will appear on the Dashboard.

Duplicate Report

Duplicate Report allows users to duplicate a Report to the same Dashboard. This can be useful when you need similar variations of a Report and want to streamline their creation.

Report Header Updates

To open a Report in the builder users can now click directly on the header of a Report. Users can still get a quick glance at how a Report is made using the Information Icon, but clicking the Report Title will jump straight to the Report Builder.

View Only Mode

If you do not own the Report, clicking the header opens the Report Builder in a view-only mode. You're still able to make changes to the report visualization but are not able to Save them.

If you want to make permanent changes you should click Duplicate Report and Kubit will generate a new report with the same logic that you own. Once duplicated you're able to make any modifications you'd like and add the report to any of your Dashboards.

This ensures that other members of your team do not inadvertently modify the visualizations on a report without explicit permission.
