Dashboard and Report Commenting

Commenting on Dashboards

When using Dashboards users now have the option to comment on individual Reports or the Dashboard as a whole.

Leave a comment

  1. Click the Speech Bubble Icon at the bottom of your Dashboard screen.

  2. Click on a Report or blank space on the Dashboard. These leave comments on the Report widget or at the top of the Dashboard.

  3. Type your comment and confirm it with the blue Upload Arrow.

Respond to a comment

  1. Click the Speech Bubble Icon on a Report or at the top of the Dashboard.

  2. Type your response in the text box below the original comment.

  3. Confirm your response using the blue Upload Arrow.

Edit a comment

  1. Click the Speech Bubble Icon in the right hand bar of the screen.

  2. Select the comment thread you want to edit.

  3. Select the three dots next to the comment you wish to edit. Click Edit and change your message.

View all comments

  1. Click the Speech Bubble Icon in the right hand bar of the screen.

  2. Select the comment thread you want to see. If your comment is on a Report, clicking it will bring your screen to the relevant Report.

Resolve a thread of comments

  1. Open a comment.

  2. At the top, find the Circled Checkmark Icon.

  3. Select this icon to erase the chain of comments.

Delete a comment

  1. Open a comment thread.

  2. Click the three dots next to any comment other than the first one.

  3. Click Delete.

Add Images

  1. Make a new comment.

  2. Select the Image Icon.

  3. Add your image and upload with the blue arrow.

Slack Enabled Commenting

Users are able to mention others in their comments if they have the slack integration enabled. To set up the integration, read our Integrate Kubit with Slack guide. Once the integration is set up, two new options open up.

Set up a Slack Channel for Comment Updates

  1. Be a Dashboard Manager.

  2. Click the Gear Icon in the top right of the comment sidebar.

  3. Select a channel.

  4. Any time someone comments, the updates will be sent to the specified Slack channel.

Mention other Users

  1. Create a comment.

  2. Use the @ icon to select a user to mention.

  3. Your message will be sent to their Slack.

Thread Indicator

When users have new comments, they will see a small red dot in the sidebar's commenting icon.
